Terms of use
Last updated 2026. By using Dayton Talks you agree to these terms.
Real names and one account
Dayton Talks is a real-name community. Use the name neighbors know you by, keep one account, and don't impersonate anyone. Accounts using fake identities may be removed.
Community conduct
Don't post content that is:
- Harassing, hateful, or threatening toward a person or group
- Defamatory, knowingly false, or intended to mislead neighbors
- Doxxing, or otherwise sharing private information about someone else
- Spam, scams, or unlabeled commercial promotion
- Illegal, or an infringement of someone else's rights
Moderators may remove content, lock threads, or suspend accounts. Report problems with the report button on any post or comment.
Community vs. newsroom content
Community posts are neighbor opinions and are not Dayton Talks reporting. Newsroom articles are produced by our journalists under our editorial standards and corrections policy.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give Dayton Talks a non-exclusive license to display, distribute and excerpt it on the site, in newsletters and on social channels, with attribution to your name.
Business listings and events
Businesses may claim a listing by verifying their connection to the business. Events are reviewed before publishing. We may decline or remove listings and events at our discretion, including for inaccurate information.
No warranty
Dayton Talks is provided "as is." We work hard to be accurate, but we're not liable for decisions made based on community content or for interruptions in service.
