On the third Saturday of every month, a church basement in Oakwood becomes a workshop.
Organizers estimate the cafe has diverted roughly 2,300 pounds of material since 2024. Dayton Talks reviewed the intake sheets those estimates are based on; the figures are self-reported and rounded by category.
The volunteers are direct about the limits. Roughly a third of items brought in cannot be repaired at all.
